The 25 Safe Home organisations in the Netherlands said rising reports of domestic violence and child abuse, increasingly complex cases, staff shortages and delays elsewhere in youth care have created acute pressure and growing waiting lists. They asked the government for €210 million over the next three years to reduce the pressure and waiting lists, recruit staff and support changes in care; one report put the requested amount at €70 million for the coming years.
