The municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee wanted to contribute up to €1 million to maintain the beach at the Brouwersdam. Schouwen-Duiveland had asked the province to contribute financially, while alderman Alwijn ten Cate said the municipality had already set aside €1.8 million. It remained unclear how the beach would be funded and maintained.
