A man opened fire during a memorial for a deceased female politician in Johannesburg, South Africa, killing four people, including at least one child, and injuring three others. The suspect turned himself in and is in custody. Local media reported that several victims were members of the ANC Youth Division.

The memorial was held for a politician from the African National Congress who was killed in a shooting earlier this month. Both shootings were believed to be politically motivated. A total of 43 people have reportedly been killed in politically motivated actions in South Africa this year.
