Flevoland municipalities offer subsidies for climate measures
◆1 source
The municipalities of Dronten, Urk and Noordoostpolder, together with the Zuiderzeeland Water Board, are making funding available to residents and companies that take measures such as planting trees, greening roofs and collecting rainwater. The municipalities said the scheme was intended both to address climate change and to prepare for heavier rainfall, longer dry periods and hotter summers. The reported subsidies include €35 per tree, €20 per metre for replacing an existing fence or wall with a hedge, up to €500, and €500 for a rainwater tank that stores 3,000 litres. Urk’s municipality handles and assesses the applications. The available information ends while describing how applications can be submitted.
