A fire destroyed a warehouse on Johan Huizingalaan in Amsterdam that was used to test the control system and other technical components of the future Schinkelbrug for the Zuidasdok project. The tests stopped, and the test facility and its equipment were lost.

Amsterdam municipality is investigating the fire's cause and its effects on Zuidasdok operations and planning. The fire may delay the project. The Schinkelbrug is currently operated temporarily from a building unit beside the Nieuwe Meersluis building, with control due to move to that building by the end of 2027.
