The Drechttunnel in the Rijnmond region closed 204 times last month because of height reports involving lorries, according to figures from Rijkswaterstaat obtained by Rijnmond. That was nearly seven closures a day and 60% more than in September of the previous year. The number of height reports involving lorries in tunnels in the Rijnmond region was reported to be continuing to rise, while motorists’ annoyance was also reported to be increasing.
