Dick Sijtsma from Veldhoven said he has struggled with aphasia for 11 years after suffering a cerebral infarction. He said he can form clear sentences in his mind, but loses the words when he tries to speak, leaving him feeling trapped in his head. He also said that people sometimes think he has an intellectual disability or is drunk.
