Vaccination coverage among young children in Utrecht declined again. In 2025, 84% of two-year-olds had received all vaccinations in the National Immunisation Programme, down from 93% in 2020, according to figures the municipal executive shared with the city council.

Coverage was particularly low in Overvecht, where 65% of two-year-olds were fully vaccinated. The decline also affected Kanaleneiland and Leidsche Rijn; the latter was described as concerning because many children live there.
