Dutch MPs Pieter Grinwis of the Christian Union and Chris Stoffer of the Reformed Political Party discussed what was described as a persistent large tax difference between households with one earner and those with two earners. Grinwis said the tax system effectively contains an unwritten commandment that people should become a two-earner household. Stoffer said he was observing a gradual hollowing-out.
