The search for deposit containers and cans in Utrecht city centre is resulting in increasing damage to waste bins and more litter. The additional costs for cleaning, repairs and enforcement are estimated at €1.3 million per year. The estimate was given by the Utrecht municipal executive in answers to written questions from JA21.
