The trial of Ukrainian former military officer Serhii K. began in Hamburg over the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Prosecutors suspect him of leading a team that planted explosives on the Baltic Sea seabed, damaging three of the four pipeline strings. He is the first suspect to stand trial in the case.
