Free preschool childcare in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, used by 1,100 toddlers across its three municipalities, had been due to run out of funding at the end of the year. The House of Representatives approved a motion intended to preserve the scheme while the national introduction of almost free childcare is prepared for 2029.

The arrangement is therefore expected to continue for the time being. Parents will later have to apply for a supplement.
