Report filed over Roelof Bisschop's purchase of Israeli wine

5 sources

Former SGP parliamentarian Roelof Bisschop said he deliberately bought two bottles of Israeli wine after a ban on products from illegal settlements in Israeli-occupied territories took effect. He said he did so as a statement against the cabinet decision, which he described as disproportionate, and to test its legal basis. He said he did not believe he had broken the law. Activists from the BDS movement reported Bisschop to the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) over the purchase. It is not clear from the reports whether the FIOD has opened an investigation or whether any prosecution will follow.
