Closure of the Schiphol road in Haarlem
◆1 source
The Schiphol road near the Buitenrust bridges in Haarlem was reported closed to car traffic from the night of 8 October until 5 a.m. on Monday, 12 October. The closure was linked to work for a bicycle cellar at the future Haarlem Spaarnepoort bus station, where a temporary road was being built across the work area. Drivers were directed along different detours depending on whether they were travelling towards Heemstede and Zandvoort, central Haarlem or the A9. The closure had little effect on pedestrians and cyclists, who could use existing diversion routes and the underpass, although crossing the road at the traffic lights by the bridge was not possible.
