A clip from Love Is Blind: The Netherlands drew criticism after participant Jurriaan said he did not think he would be attracted to a “fully tinted” woman. The comments were described online as racist, and the clip also spread internationally. Mika, his match on the programme, was criticised for continuing with him. Mika responded on Instagram, saying she had chosen to continue the experiment with Jurriaan and appealing for understanding that people make mistakes. One report also presented an opinion that the couple’s handling of the situation offered an example to others.
