The separatist Parti Québécois won Quebec’s provincial election and is set to form the next government in the French-speaking Canadian province. It did not secure a parliamentary majority. The party returned to power promising a new referendum on Quebec’s independence from Canada. One report said it planned to hold such a vote only after US President Donald Trump leaves office.
