The cabinet wants to end the tax deduction for additional healthcare costs, such as insoles and travel expenses to the hospital, from 1 January 2028. Until then, people can deduct eligible costs from their tax return under certain conditions and thereby pay less tax. Experts said taxpayers need to include the costs in their return to claim the deduction.
