Burglary at Harm Groeneveld’s home

Burglars stole Pokémon cards, video games and other collectibles worth about €50,000 from the home of Harm Groeneveld, 38, owner of Valhalla Boardgames in Veghel. He discovered the break-in on Sunday night after returning with his girlfriend from Fantasy Fest in Rijswijk, where they had operated a sales stand over the weekend. A window had been forced and his upstairs office had been ransacked; pillowcases were also missing and were believed to have been used to carry away items.

Groeneveld said much of the collection had sentimental value and cannot be replaced. He reported the burglary to police and compiled a list of missing items for sellers and buyers. Neighbours provided doorbell-camera footage showing two people carrying items away at about 6 a.m., though they are not identifiable in the images; further camera footage is being sought.
