Breda Airport seeks looser rules for Airparc expansion
◆1 source
Breda International Airport aims to expand its Airparc with more high-tech and airline companies alongside the runway. Airport owner Stef Have says a rule in the environmental plan is obstructing the expansion because up to half of the office space must be allowed to operate without a direct connection to aviation. The Airparc currently employs about 200 people, with a target of about 500 within ten years. Its companies include flight school Breda Aviation, aerospace technology developer Orange Aerospace, IT company S2IX and Cematec, a supplier of specialist parts to ASML. Have took over the airport from municipalities in West Brabant in 2008 and was tasked with improving its quality, creating jobs and making it financially independent.
