Croatian police arrested 18 Ajax supporters in Split ahead of Ajax’s Conference League match against Hajduk Split. Croatian media reported that the supporters may have been carrying weapons; one report said stone blocks and knives were found and that the arrests were preventive, intended to avert clashes with Hajduk supporters.

Ajax had warned travelling supporters about security risks and advised them not to wear Ajax clothing or move in recognisable groups.
