Ancient shipwreck discovered near Kekova

Archaeologists discovered a shipwreck near the Turkish island of Kekova, off Antalya. The wreck was estimated to be between 4,400 and 4,700 years old and was described as the oldest known shipwreck.

The vessel's wooden structure had decayed, but its cargo was found intact. One report said pots from the wreck may contain remnants of olive oil or wine.
