Annie van Laarhoven-Van Horen celebrated her 109th birthday on Saturday with her family in Sint-Michielsgestel. The resident of Den Bosch was described as Brabant’s oldest inhabitant. Her daughter Bep said that Den Bosch mayor Jack Mikkers visited to congratulate her and thought she looked better than the previous year. Van Laarhoven-Van Horen attributed her longevity to continuing to breathe, living healthily and having good genes. She was born in 1917, never smoked and drank little, according to the account.
