From Friday 16 October, parking will no longer be available on the Tegelzetterdek in Almere Stad. The deck and the Dirk supermarket beneath it are to be demolished, making way for the SkyTower36 residential tower on the Korte Promenade. The building is expected to be completed in 2029 and will include rental homes, shops and a new Dirk supermarket on the ground floor.

The adjacent Krakelgarage will remain accessible, as will the Schippergarage and Flevogarage. Dirk has temporarily moved to the former PIT museum building at Schipperplein, for up to seven years, while Action is moving to the Town Hall Street. The municipality of Almere said access for loading and unloading by local businesses will remain available.
