Almeerse Hockey Club lost 2–1 to De Gooische Hockey Club at Sportpark Klein Brandt in Almere on Sunday, its fifth defeat in six rounds. The team of coach Donald Drost is now in the direct-relegation place after six matches. De Gooische took the lead in the second quarter, and Krijn Postuma equalised with a penalty corner in the third. The visitors scored the winning goal from a penalty stroke after a foul by goalkeeper Hugo van Reeken. Postuma missed a late penalty stroke for the Almeerse side.

Drost said it was too early to call the result decisive, noting that many matches remained. He said the team needed to improve its finishing and was struggling to convert its chances.
