The accounts quickly attracted tens of millions of views and likes and hundreds of thousands of followers, while many viewers found the character humorous. The popularity was used to promote his own cryptocurrency, $JEANPHIL. Such realistic-looking AI characters promoting their own cryptocurrencies are reportedly appearing more frequently. Their stated aim is often to go viral and encourage people to buy the coins, which can then generate money for their creators. AI characters of this kind can now reportedly be created within minutes, whereas producing similar content previously required specialised skills such as advanced video editing.
