The 42nd ASML Marathon Eindhoven was held in Eindhoven, with nearly 40,000 participants expected across the full, half and quarter marathons. The quarter marathon started at about 08:30, while the full marathon, scheduled to start at 09:30, was delayed by about 10 minutes because security measures around the course were not yet in place. The organisation said the issue could be resolved quickly. Runners from 120 countries took part in the events. Conditions were expected to be around 15C, with a possible morning shower but otherwise mainly dry weather, increasing sunshine and a moderate wind.
