A former financial associate of social and cultural centre De Bogerd in Druten allegedly embezzled €109,000 from the centre and two other institutions in Druten over a period of about a year and a half. She had joined as an intern and learned accounting. The deception was uncovered by De Bogerd’s operators and employees, some of whom had been friends with her. The institutions are seeking to recover the money through the courts.
